The heart of the spire definitely has some of these factors but significantly less enemies are directly tied to the heart in slay the spire vs the enemies directly tied to the heart of darkness.Īdditionally, the spire heart has never shown to be able to actually corrupt or take over the entire world, merely just the spire itself (and not even all of it as we can see completely sane merchants and other npcs throughout). IMO though the heart of darkness is so much more powerful lorewise based on the enemies it summons and the sheer amount of enemies required to actually get to it. Granted, there are enemies that are separate from the heart such as bandits. The heart of darkness canonically summons entire armies of hellspawns that will eventually take over the entire world (stygian mode). My reasoning is this the spire has many entities and enemies within it, but not all of it are a part of the actual spire heart. Lorewise heart of darkness and it’s not even close.
